This winery project for Septenary, The Winery at Seven Oaks Farm integrates a new production building and a barrel room/tasting room building into an existing historic farm estate. The two new buildings are designed to blend with the surrounding farm outbuildings and are positioned to separate the public area of the winery from the working portion of the winery and farm. Visitors enjoy wine tastings in a re-purposed pool house, the formal gardens, and on a new large tent-covered patio. The new buildings form a visual backdrop for the gardens and patio and allow visitors to see into the barrel room and a portion of the production area while screening the day to day operations of the farm winery from public view. These operational activities take place on the opposite side of the buildings, accessed from existing farm lanes and next to other outbuildings that have been repurposed as part of the project for case storage, a warming kitchen and vineyard equipment storage.
